That's right, this spot is all about the food. Your food, your wife's food, even the food your mama cooks. Once a month I'll post one of my favorite dishes that I cook at work that you can do at home. I'll even throw in my very own personal recipes that I've picked up from people who were close to me. So what are you wiating for? What's your favorite dish?

What song is playing in the beginning of the Quebec episode? The song comes on right after the usual intro. It's playing when Tony says "Who are these Canadians anyway?"
It almost sounds like the beginning of Jamie Cullum's "Get Your Way," but without the lyrics. |

Ok Ok, so sue me, but I have had Durian before, and yes, smelly as it is, it is very unique, but creamy and good. VERY sophisticated in flavor. I occasionally watch Bizzare, and imagine my SHOCK, watching him spit out his first taste of it. Blew me out of the water.
I always knew that Tony had a much more sophisticated palate, but to see Andrew spit it out like that, and remember even when eating a Hershey poop shoot, Tony was gracious about it. Ok, off my soap box now, but what do u think about it MSB

Hey Tony,
Have you thought about going to Alaska? There is so much more to Alaska then tourist sites and cruise ships.

I watched part of the latest episode of No Res. and was uppset to hear that Tony would "Never come to Denver". I was more than upset. I was pissed. There were multiple reasons that I came up with for why, but only one sticks in the forefront of my mind, he's a pussy. He would probably end up getting altitude sickness anyways.
As upsetting as it was/is my veiws on him have changed. I would post them, but that would seem too harsh and uncalled for. What a jerk-off.

What a disappointment!
Where was SJ profiled in this episode? Asbury Park is hardly South Jersey. There are over a million acres of pine barrens and farms located in SJ with many locals eating local fauna and flora. Just an FYI, Cape May is Victorian not Colonial |

Your show is like a window to the unknown, but you make it known and happy. Your shows are amazing and funny, especially when they make you drink, drink, drink some more and more. Hahahahah great show Tony. Take care yourself. And when I grow up I want to be just like you. Thanks for showing us that great food comes from everywhere no just a fancy restaurant in Hollywood or New York.

The episode when you traveled to Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia was excellent and I am so glad that you love Indonesia! I am from Indonesia but my family moved to Argentina when I was two years old and I have never been back. My husband and our new baby girl Ariany are planning to make a trip to Indonesia in 2010 and I can't wait. (It's long overdue). My husband is from Congo and I went to Kinshasa, Congo in 2005 and 2007. I must say that Congo opened my heart and I have a better understanding and appreciation of life. The people of Congo are amazing, very giving and the country is rich due to the kind people in the Congo. We are planning to move there one day since my in-laws are there and my husband wants to be close to his parents/family. If you ever decide to visit the Congo, my husband and his family would love to host you.

An artist,I was 7 yrs. old when I decided the mini, purple iced cakes I made with my new Christmas gift; a little girl's bake set, were delicious enough to sell door to door ( to my neighbors;) for 25 cents each!!! Shortly after that I made cottage cheese, homemade birch beer, grape juice and Sticky Buns. I've been 'cooking' and working in the industry or in related ways ever since and, professionally, for most of my adult life. Ahhh...the agony and the ecstasy;))...and I too have lived to tell about it!
I come from a long line of culinarian's; cooks, baker's, butcher's... My son cooked for a living while going through college and while training for the fire department. I've worked for some of the worst in the business and with some of the best... As with cooking,I too have translated my creativity to many other things in life and strange as it may seem I am somewhat a latebloomer with all the food channels broohaha- mostly because I was usually working/'cooking' or selling ingredients to those not unlike the 'stars'/hosts of the shows foodies like to watch on TV. Now,on days off work, at the end of the day, I watch Chef Anthony Bourdain on the Travel Channel- discovering him while channel surfing after the San Diego County Cable Channel stopped showing my favorite regional cooking show,"Sam the Cooking Guy"(he's on Discovery channel now). What a joy it has been to participate as a viewer of NR...I love the show for too many reasons to mention now. I use the show as a back drop for inspiration while I'm creating my latest and original art d objects. What a pleasant surprise to have discovered Anthony Bourdain and "No Reservations" and as an added bonus, knowing we share the same birthday, regional roots, the joy of really good food, a genuine, multi-dimensional appreciation for food & other cultures, writing, etc. AB,U R my little treasure chest!!!

My great grandfather once told me a story. He was fighting a war against many opposing forces. He lay down in trenches of mud and blood spattered bodies. As all was indignified, . .he slept on a snow-white sheet. He said he still somehow felt "dirty." I could not ascertain if if was truth or only a dream. He was Cherokee, and my other grandfather , . .Snake nation--- but everyone from the immediate family said that he was crazy. And yet still crazy mutterings that mean absolutely nothing coming from me. "Lest ye not."

I know I'm going to hear about this one from some of you. Two great restaurants are in Colorado - both in Denver. One is the "Buckhorn Exchange" and the other is "The Fort." They specialize in colorado game; bison, elk, Colorado lamb, and quail. Venison is offered at the "Buckhorn" and both places will have exotic specials like wild boar (although I asked the server at the "Buckhorn" if boar raised domestically could still be considered "wild") and yak. The two restaurants are expensive, but are well worth it.
