Eating around Darwin (Australia) - Local Style
Mar 11 2008, 8:01 PM EDT
Apart from the Markets in Darwin, here are a couple of othere places to eat at:

Rendezvous - Thai & Malaysian
Nirvana - A combination of Thai,Malaysian&Indian
Stokes Hill Wharf Eatery - Variety of vendors. Some cook Buffalo, Crocodile, Kangaroo & Emu as well as many other foods.
Roma Cafe - Variety. Good Coffee.
Sari Rasa - (My favourite) Indonesian
[the is also Uncle Sam's - Nothing flash. The place is open 24 hours and its the place to go after a big night out]

Place's to visit in the Smith Street Mall:
The Gallarier Eatery
Paspally Plaza Eatery
Centre Point Eatery

There are many more, but I haven't been in Darwin for some years now, so there could be more these days.

Also, there are a couple of venders in the Transit Centre on Mitchel street

For Australian native ingredients - Red Ochar (Cairns)

Darwin Local - "Jacko" (Member of a big Darwin family)

He is a good person to get in contact with for local hunter, gather & cook

I hope this all grab's your attention. All the best.
