She IS very smart, funny, feisty and down-to-earth.

Tony does not own nor does he head a brigade in ANY kitchen any more. He was the executive chef at Les Halles until about 2001 or so, when his TV career made it impossible for him to devote the time and attention needed to be an exec chef at a restaurant. He is still described as "chef at large" for Les Halles, but that is purely "honorary". He does NOT cook there at all (except for one ep of NR). Basically, his ex-boss Philippe lets him use LH for book signings, book release parties, shots for NR, etc., and they heavily promote his books on their website. Tony, in turn, occasionally does an event - for instance, he cooked the preview of Wild Game Week in November 2005. It's a reciprocally warm and beneficial relationship for Tony and LH. LH benefits from the PR, and Tony has a "home base" to use. You can certainly visit LH (Park Avenue) which was Tony's kitchen. His cooking is very fine, very deft. His cassoulet still gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling - and I'm not a big cassoulet fan. (Yes, I had his food most recentkly during the shooting of the LH NR ep, and previously at other gigs where he also did cooking demonstrations.)"
